Why isn't there Stone Stairs?

  • #1 Jun 26, 2012

Stairs have been around for a while and i have always wonderd why aren't there stone stairs?
we have Wood, Brick, Stone Brick and co but never stone stairs. they would be easy to make as they would be the same as stone brick stairs but with the stone slab texture, it would take a programer maby 10mins tops to make a mod so why not put it in vanilla minecraft?

Ha, I came into this topic thinking you were talking about smoothstone... But yeah, why doesn't smoothstone have stairs anyways?

My guessing is Mojang can't be bothered to make stone stairs.

I don't think they would care, they've probably never just wanted to add them.

cause stone stairs will make the game better....

not only better but 10x better apparently...

I do think stone stairs would be nice to have, but I don't mind using stone slabs instead.

I think stone stairs are pretty much at the bottom of the item chain for implementing.

Let's forget making it easier for the modding community to make mods for both SSP and SMP, and let's forget trying to add new biomes, mechanics and blocks to the game.

DROP EVERYTHING! WE NEED CRAPPY STAIRS STAT!

We need them smoothstone stairs so everyones staircase inside their 100% pure square smoothstone castle can match their walls and blend in.

God forbid someone use... *GASP!*, stone brick stairs!!

What i don't like about mojang, they don't bother to add and change little things which put together would make the game 10x better.

I know exactly what you mean... Like small details, things that really do make the game way better...

I almost threw in " WON'T SOMEBODY PLEASE THINK OF THE CHILDREN?!!?" . But I thought it'd make the whole performance unbelievable.

Everyone in here is pretty mocking the idea because it's "of low priority." Did everyone already forget that they just pulled the implementation of sandstone stairs seemingly out of their ass? They couldn't have put in smooth stone stairs while they were mucking around with that?

It doesn't matter whether I support or object to the subject at hand, if your argument is stupid I am against you.

Please, tell me, this will seem completely random, but have you ever played Hero's Realm?

Yeah I know, it's quite odd how they do things...

    That's actually a great question.
I was thinking that same thing the other day...

And no,it isn't just changing the texture.
Theirs a couple of properties you have to change,also....
If you used the wooden stairs and just changed the texture,
The name, blast resistance and tool you use to break it would be same as wooden stairs.
It would also be ignitable,and....disintegrate-able,I am unsure if that is a word.

    But anyways,good question.:P

I don't know alot about programming, but couldn't stone stairs be added in like a few hours? They added other types of stairs, why not stone?
